  • Aside from the outstanding service, stellar views, and beautiful Art Deco venue, the Chef was also excellent. He created several custom dishes that reflected our personal tastes and vision for the day. We received many comments from guests that the food was the best they’d had at a wedding.

    Such a fun boutique hotel in primo location downtown Chicago! Beautiful atmosphere everywhere you turn, food is DELICIOUS and the hospitality service is so professional. This place knows luxury and they go above and beyond with personal touches and attention to every single guest they have. Run don't walk! You'll LOVE it and then book another stay to go back.

  • Amazing venue for celebrations

    Could not recommend The Gwen enough for any type of event. It’s a chic, luxurious, and dazzling space. We hosted a graduation party in one of the balcony suites in May 2018 and enjoyed it so much we’ve booked the presidential suite and grand ballroom for our wedding next year. Love the space, love the staff! The GM and Event Director have been incredible with adjustments due to COVID and are invested in making sure our day is exactly how we want it. The food is great and the outdoor terraces give a great city experience. 5 stars.

    During a business stay, rented a conference room along with my hotel room. The staff set up the room to our exact needs. Food service was timely and delicious. The staff was super accommodating and intuitive to our needs. The room was beyond comfortable and the view of Michigan Ave and Lake Michigan was breath taking. Had a great time on the roof top bar. The cocktails are amazing. I don't think I have ever encountered a friendlier staff in all my years of travel. Highly recommend this place for business or pleasure.

    “I’ve stayed for business and pleasure and am never disappointed. Greatly appreciated Vasso’s attention to detail in setting up and overseeing our meeting for this trip. Gorgeous conference room with city view and amenities. She ensured that our set up and needs were attended to. Hard to stand out among the friendly, professional and helpful staff - but she did. And the hotel is absolutely beautiful, clean and impressive. We also enjoyed Upstairs for breakfasts and the terrace for cocktails. (Thank you, Meredith.) Delightful, delicious and while COVID compliant, so comfortable with fire pits, sofas, blankets and music. Made me feel almost normal again. I’ll be back soon. Next time for fun!”
